0.13 INS. OF RAIN AT GREAT BLUE HILL
Since last night, 0.13 ins. of precipitation has fallen at Blue
Hill Observatory. It was very foggy this morning, as the visibility
was only 1/16 mile, but it improved to 30 miles by the 1:00 P.M.
EST observation when the clouds were lifting. At that time, there
was a layer of broken stratocumulus and another of overcast altostratus.
The maximum temperatures have been a little bit cooler than yesterday’s.
The maximum reached yesterday was 76F, but so far today, it was only 73F.
Yesterday’s average ended up being 4F below normal and today’s average
will likely be below normal as well. Another difference in weather today
is the wind speeds, which have been higher. The peak gust yesterday was
23 MPH out of the ENE at 2:48 P.M., while today, the peak was 29 MPH out
of the SSE at 8:28 A.M.
