ANOTHER PLEASANTLY WARM AND DRY DAY TO ROUND OUT THE WEEKEND ….

Mainly clear skies, save for a few cumulus and cirrus, has
been the theme today with abundant sunshine. Temperatures
have worked into the mid-upper 70s, but with dry air in place,
it’s very pleasant out there today. The dew point has been in
the mid 40s for the most part today. Just can’t beat this type
of air in July.

Wind has been mainly light with an easterly wind this morning,
however the wind has veered to more of a southerly direction
this afternoon. A sign of warmer air on the way for tomorrow.
The average speed for the day has been around 9mph. A peak
gust of 22mph has been recorded so far, occurring just before
3am this morning.

Visibility has been excellent, holding at 80 miles all day.

We continue our dry stretch with a deficit of over a half inch
on the month and almost 7.50 inches on the year. Most of the
state continues in a moderate drought save the Berkshires
and Cape Cod. These areas are still rated as “Abnormally
Dry”, according to the drought monitor.

The high so far today is 77F, which is 5 degrees below the
normal maximum of 82F. The low since midnight is 57F, which
is 7 degrees below the normal minimum of 64F.
