VERY WINDY WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
We observed a limited visibility of 25 miles on average due
to a thin fog layer. Some ice pellets fell this morning before
the 7 A.M. observation, leaving barely a trace. The wind has
been the main factor today, as we are seeing gusts of almost
50 mph this afternoon. This does not come close to the wind
record for the calendar date of 101 mph, set in 1978. This is
also the highest wind record for the entire month!
The high so far today is 40F, which is 5 degrees above the
normal high of 35F. The low since midnight is 19F, which is
the same as the normal low.
