SUNSHINE START WITH INCREASING CLOUDS AS SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH….

This morning featured a brilliant sunrise and we enjoyed mostly
sunny skies for the first part of the day. As midmorning approached,
increasing clouds moved into the area and by our final observation
we were at overcast conditions.

Yesterday’s low pressure system moved through quickly during the
evening hours and netted us 0.26 inches of rain. Even with the rain
temperatures have been tracking above normal for the past couple of
days. That will more than likely change with this next system that
is in the process of moving through our area.

The wind has been steady but on the lower side, averaging around 9 mph
for much of the day. Winds were mostly out of the NNW for most of the
morning and then shifted to the northeast and ENE directions right before
our final observation. That wind shift also decreased the wind as well as
the temperature pretty significantly. The peak gust so far for the day
occurred around 6:30am with a gust of 17 mph.

Thanks to the foggy conditions this morning we had about 30 miles of
visibility. Once the fog moved out we improved and have held steady at
around 40 miles for the remainder of the morning and early afternoon.

The maximum temperature for today is 43F degrees, which is 9 degrees
above the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 32F degrees, which is 14 degrees above the normal low of 18F.
