VERY WINDY BUT DRY TODAY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
Following yesterday’s storm, today is much dryer; but just as
windy. We are experiencing frequent gusts above 30 mph, with
the highest being 45 mph so far today. Visibility was 20 this
morning due to haze, rising to 65 miles by the 1 P.M. observation.
The sky has filled in with clouds since this morning, with
conditions moving from almost clear this morning to mostly cloudy
by noontime.
Despite yesterday’s rainfall, we are still 0.34 inches below
normal for the month. Snowfall is another concern, as we are
7.1 inches below normal. This season, we are still above
average for the snow total thanks to high December snowfall.
Temperatures are continuing to be warmer than normal, especially
the overnight lows.
The high temperature so far today is 41F, 7 degrees above the
daily normal maximum of 33F. The low since midnight is 32F,
15 degrees above the normal minimum of 17F.
