WINDY CONDITIONS PREVAIL FOLLOWING YESTERDAY’S
UN-JANUARY-LIKE DAY OF HEAVY RAIN, THUNDERSTORMS
AND NEARLY RECORD-BREAKING HIGH TEMPERATURES.

Yesterday’s weather was dominated by very warm, moist air
which produced wind gusts in the upper 50mph range on several instruments
along with heavy rain and cloud-to-ground lightning during the
mid afternoon. As of 0700 this morning Blue Hill collected 0.68 inches of new
rain over the past 24 hours that fell during a couple very heavy downpours.
Winds have only backed down slightly from yesterday as well, with gusts in
the 40mph range by mid day today.
