BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2024
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0627E
SUNSET:  1729E

PLENTY OF SUNSHINE, BUT COLD WITH A LIGHT WIND HERE ON BLUE HILL…

Skies have been clear today with wall to wall sunshine being the
theme, however the air is rather cold and very dry (relative to
normal) as a piece of an arctic air mass skirts the region.

Temperatures have struggled to reach the low 30s by early this
afternoon, after starting the day at 11F degrees. The dew point
has been in the low-mid single digits all day, very indicative of
the arctic air.

Thankfully, the wind has been on the light side, otherwise it would
feel rather uncomfortable outside. The average speed for the day so
far is only around 7mph. The peak gust thus far is around 26mph,
which occurred just after midnight.

Visibility has been excellent all day as one would expect with such
low dew point values. The view has been at around 70 miles all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 32F degrees, which is 7
degrees below the normal high of 39F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 11F degrees, which is 11 degrees below the normal low
of 22F.
