FIRST SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON ACCUMULATES TO
5.6 INCHES…

The first flakes of the season began falling just
after 8:00 AM yesterday morning and continued to
fall until this morning around 2:00 AM. Overall
we measured a total of 5.6 inches of snow during
this storm. The liquid equivalent precipitation
equaled 0.72 inches which means this was a very
wet watery snow. This heavy snow compacted down
to 5 inches on the ground by 7:00 AM this morning.
The sky was mostly cloudy in the morning with a broken
altocumulus layer but cleared throughout the day.
Visibility decreased from 60 miles to 40 miles by
10:00 AM due to distant haze. After yesterday’s
light wind, wind from the west started to pick up
this afternoon.
