CHILLY AND DRY FOR THE FIRST DAY OF METEOROLOGICAL WINTER….
This morning featured a beautiful orange sunrise with mostly clear
skies. We had a brief period mid morning with overcast conditions,
but we were able to clear things out again by 1pm. Offshore clouds
continued to linger about with ocean-effect convection in the area.
Temperatures have stayed below normal all day and the dry air continues
to dominate our weather. Dew points have not even reached 20F by our
final observation.
Winds have remained relatively light again today and mostly out of the
west and west southwest direction. The average speed has been around
10mph and our peak gust of 23mph occurred around 9:30am, which was
almost identical to yesterday’s wind profile.
Visibility has held between 50-60 miles throughout most of the day.
The maximum temperature for today is 37F degrees, which is 8 degrees
below the normal high of 45F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 23F degrees, which is 6 degrees below the normal low of 29F.
