COOLER WITH ONSHORE FLOW AND VARIABLE AMOUNT OF CLOUD COVER…
Today is cooler and a bit less humid than yesterday with an
onshore flow following a frontal passage last night. The sky
cover has varied between scattered clouds and periods of
overcast. All in all not a bad day to be outside.
Temperatures have made it to the mid 70s which is just below
normal for today’s date. The dew point is in the low to mid
60s. So it is still a bit humid, but not as bad as it was
yesterday.
The wind has been on the lighter side, but fairly steady out
of the northeast and east-northeast. The average speed so far
today is around 10mph. The peak gust so far, which occurred
just after 8:30 this morning, is around 20mph.
Visibility has been generally between 40-50 miles for the most
part today.
The maximum temperature so far today has been 74F, which is
5 degrees below the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 64F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low
of 61F.
Through yesterday, Summer of 2023 (Jun-Aug) is now 8th wettest
on record going back to 1886. Here are the top 10 wettest
summers as compiled by our Chief Scientist, Mike Iacono.
