HAZY SUNSHINE AND WARM WITH THE RETURN OF WILDFIRE SMOKE…

Other than a few altocumulus and altocumulus castellanus during
the mid morning period, skies have been void of any clouds most
of the day. However the abundant sunshine is being filtered
a bit by the haziness caused by the return of some wildfire
smoke to the region. The sky looks rather milky and this
effect has been increasing as we move into the afternoon hours.

Temperatures have however warmed into the upper 70s and low
80s across the area. The dew point, which was at nice levels
since yesterday, has been inching upwards today, reaching near
60F early this afternoon.

The wind started the day on the brisk side, but has diminished
a bit from the early morning levels. The average speed for the
day thus far is around 11mph. The peak gust thus far, occurring
at around 3:30 this morning, is 23mph.

Visibility has been restricted today due to the haziness from
the smoke. The view has actually decreased this afternoon to
around 20 miles, after being upwards to 30 miles this morning.

The maximum temperature so far today has been 80F, which is
equal to the normal high of 80F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 59F, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 62F.
