SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES AND DRY AIR MAKING FOR FINE SUMMER WEATHER….
Mainly sunny skies this morning have given way to a few more
clouds this afternoon, but still all in all a very nice day for
outdoor activities. Temperatures have warmed into the low to mid
80s, which is near to slightly above normal for this time of year.
The truly stunning part is the low dew points in the low 50s.
This is just wonderful air and definitely well received after
all the humid weather of the past week plus.
Visibility has been excellent all day thanks to the dry Canadian
air mass in place. We’ve been able to see upwards to 80 miles!
Wind has been rather light today with an average speed of only
around 8mph. The peak gust thus far is only 17mph.
Most of the Boston Area is under extreme drought conditions
according to National Drought Monitor. Total rain deficit on the
year is 10.81 inches below normal.
The high so far today is 84F, which is 3 degrees above the normal
maximum of 81F. The low since midnight is 58F, which is 5 degrees
below the normal minimum of 63F.
