PLENTY OF SUNSHINE, BUT WARMER AND MORE HUMID TODAY….

Despite high thin cirrus clouds passing overhead today, there
has been an abundance of sunshine, which has become a common
theme of late. While all the dry sunny weather is great for
outdoor activity, especially this time of year, the lack of
rainfall isn’t a good thing in terms of soil moisture. For the
month our rainfall deficit is around 0.75″, however for the
year it’s up to 2″. With plenty of heat expected this week,
the soil will continue to dry further, and we’ll likely start
seeing drought conditions increasing across the area.

Temperatures are pushing above normal levels today with readings
getting into the upper 80s early this afternoon. The dew point
has been increasing as well making for a more humid feel today
as compared to the past few days. Values have risen from the
low 60s to the mid 60s so far today.

The wind has yet again been on the light side today, with a
general flow out of the southwest and west-southwest. The
average speed for the day so far is around 8mph. The peak gust
so far for the day is just 16mph, which occurred just after
2am this morning.

Visibility has been around 30 miles throughout the day thanks
to hazy conditions.

The maximum temperature so far today is 88F degrees, which is
7 degrees above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the
normal low of 63F.
