WINDY AND COOLER TODAY, BUT A BOATLOAD OF SUNSHINE ON BLUE HILL…

A cold front passed through the region late last evening with
strong cold air advection taking place thereafter. The temperature
dropped from 50F at midnight to the upper 30s by 6-7am this
morning. Temperatures have only been able to rebound to the mid
40s this afternoon with a brisk northwest to north-northwest wind.

On the bright side (no pun intended), abundant sunshine has been
the theme once a layer of stratocumulus clouds dissipated this
morning.

The wind has been busy today with frequent gusts over 30mph
occurring this morning into early this afternoon. The peak for
the day so far is 40mph, occurring early this morning. The
average speed for the day is around 17mph.

Visibility has been a perfect 90 miles all day. Truly a
spectacular view from the tower today!

The high temperature so far today is 50F, which is equal to the
normal maximum temperature for today of 50F. The low since
midnight is 36F, which is 3 degrees above our normal minimum
temperature of 33F.
