CLOSE TO RECORD BREAKING MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE…

The warmth continues on top of Great Blue Hill. The maximum
temperature of 80F is one degree away from breaking the over
100 year old record of 81F set in 1919. Today’s high is one
of the latest temperatures of 80F or more ever observed at
Blue Hill.

The sky was clear today with bright sunshine. Increased dew
points and vapor pressure has caused hazy conditions. The
hazy conditions decreased visibility to around 40 miles
all day. Wind from the W continued to be low in the morning
but increased from the WNW in the afternoon. So far we had
multiple peak gusts around 29 MPH.

The maximum temperature so far today is 80F, which is 23
degrees above the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F, which is 21 degrees above the normal
low of 40F.

As we have passed the number 1 spot for the latest minimum
temperature below 40F four days ago, it is safe to assume
that 2023 is going to end up ranking first for the latest
temperature below 40.
