GUSTY WINDS WITH MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES….

The wind is certainly the weather headline for today. Over the past
several hours, we have experienced frequent gusts in the 20-30mph range,
with occasional gusts up to 35mph. The flow began out of the west, and has
gradually shifted to out of the west-northwest by early afternoon. Our
average speed so far is 14mph, with a peak gust of 37mph, taking place just
before 11am.

Skies have seen a mixture of sun and clouds. Following sunrise, an altocumulus
cloud deck moved through, briefly filling the sky. Since then, a few cumulus
and cirrus have moved in from the west, but the majority of the sky remains blue.

Temperature wise, we are a bit above average for the time of year. We began
in the upper 40s, and quickly shot up into the mid 60s. Aside from the breeze,
it is a nice day to enjoy the outdoors. The dew point rose to the low 40s this
morning, but has now fallen back to the low 30s.

Visibility has been good, with views extending 50-70 miles. So far, no smoke
plumes have been observed in the vicinity, which is great considering the
conditions today are conducive for brushfires/wildfires.

The maximum temperature so far today is 64F, which is 7 degrees above
the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 47F,
which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 40F.
