OCTOBER PROVIDES A RELIEF FROM THE OVERWHELMING
RAINFALL DEFICIT….
During and after the frontal passage yesterday, a whole
2.21 inches of rain fell from yesterday to this morning.
A light rain continued between 7 A.M. and 9 A.M, giving
us an event total of 2.24 inches! This makes a dent in
the annual rainfall deficit, making us less than 3 inches
below normal. The monthly rainfall departure is now at
a surplus of 1.74 inches.
Following the rain and fog in the morning, visibility
opened up to over 70 miles, and skies have become
partly cloudy. Wind is on the strong side today due
to the quick change in pressure of over 6 millibars since
this morning. Wind is north-westerly at an average
of 20 mph, and the highest gust is 37 mph as of yet.
The high so far today is 55F, 5 degrees below the daily
normal of 60F. The low since midnight is 39F, 3 degrees
below the normal low of 42F.
