VARIABLE CLOUD COVER WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES AND LIGHT WIND….
Today has featured variable amounts of cloud cover, going from
overcast to clear back to overcast as the day has progressed.
The period of sunshine during the mid to late morning hours
allowed for temperatures to warm nicely making for a very
pleasant day to be outdoors.
Overnight temperatures weren’t as cold as they were the prior
night. Readings dropped into the upper 40s overnight, but have
recovered nicely to the mid 60s by early this afternoon. This
is now a bit above normal for this time of year. The dew point
has risen considerably since yesterday when values were in the
30s. Today it has risen through the 40s to near 50, as such,
the air mass isn’t as dry today.
Winds have been rather light and variable for much of the day.
The average speed for the day so far is only around 7mph. The
peak gust for the day so far has been 21mph, which occurred
during the wee hours at 12:45am.
Visibility started off at around 80 miles early this morning,
but has since dropped to around 50-60 miles as haziness has
increased with the higher dew point values.
The maximum temperature so far today is 66F degrees, which is
3 degrees above the normal high of 63F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 49F degrees, which is 3 degrees above the
normal low of 46F.
