CHILLY AND BREEZY AS RAIN TAPERS OFF….
The anticipated second round of rain yesterday evening through this
morning did not disappoint, providing us with an additional 0.89″ of much
needed rainfall. Light rain through the morning hours began to taper
as we approached noon. Skies remain gray, though some breaks in the
overcast are visible in the distance to our northwest.
The temperature has not changed much today. The high so far of 42F
occurred between 6-7am this morning, before the northwesterly breeze
picked up and the temperature retreated to the upper 30s. As of
the final observation, we are finally back to the low 40s.
After being relatively quiet overnight, winds have begun to ramp back
up. Our average speed for the day so far is 11mph, though the past
few hours have been higher than that. The peak gust so far is 30mph,
occurring at 12:30pm.
Visibility has been improving. We were briefly in the clouds this morning,
when fog limited views to 1/2 of a mile. Since then, as the cloud base has
risen, we can see 60 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 42 degrees, which is 5 degrees
below the normal high of 47F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 38F degrees, which is 6 degrees above the normal low of 32F.
