GREAT WEATHER FOLLOWING SOME OVERNIGHT RAINFALL….

Today featured rapidly improving weather after rain last night
and this morning. The rain total was 0.62 inches before the
7 A.M. observation and an additional 0.12 inches afterward.
Rain ended around 9 A.M. E.S.T.

More significant overnight with a max gust around 60 mph, wind
speed is now 20 mph from the west with frequent gusts around 35 mph.
Pressure plummeted overnight, dropping by over 20 millibars!

Weather conditions now are partly cloudy with a cool westerly
breeze, and 75 miles of visibility! Outdoor gift shop is open
until 4 P.M.

The monthly rain deficit is now -0.88 inches, while the yearly
deficit is back towards 11 inches. The drought monitor was
updated on Thursday, showing improvement across the state.
Essex county is still in the “Severe” category.

The high so far today is 72F, which is 21 degrees above
the normal maximum of 51F. This whiffs the maximum record
for the calendar date by a couple degrees! The record is
74F, set in 1909. The low since midnight is 62F, which is
17 degrees above the normal low of 35F.
