The day began cloudy early this morning with the visibility
still as high as 75 miles for a time. Very light rain began
just before 9 AM EDT and continued very light for a couple
of hours before steadier rain began. Through early afternoon,
a total of 0.32 inch has fallen during the six-hours ending
at 2 PM EDT. The mostly light rain has been occasionally
moderate in intensity. The temperature has remained very chilly
with a low of 40F only climbing to 43F by afternoon.  The wind
is beginning to increase from the N-NNE with a peak gust so
far today of 28 mph from the N, and stronger winds are expected
later today and tomorrow.

Eastern Standard Time returns tonight; turn clocks back one hour.

The October precipitation total of 9.96 inches ties for the
fourth highest on record with October 2011.
