RAINY AND RAW FOLLOWING SOME MUCH-ANTICIPATED
RAINFALL….
The storm last night left a whopping 2.19 inches in the
gauge, putting us a half inch above normal for the month
and at a three inch deficit for the year. Rain continued
through the day, leaving an additional 0.27 inches by
the 1 P.M. observation. Visibility was limited to 3 miles
at best, being a half mile for the most part.
It is quite windy at the summit, with a max gust of 44 mph
occurring this morning. The average wind speed is almost
25 mph from the northeast with frequent gusts above 30 mph!
Another feature is definitely the temperature, it is
record-settingly low at the moment:
The max temperature of 45F will most likely be one of the coldest
max temperatures for the date on record and maybe the first
below 50F in over a hundred years.
