DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, MAY 24, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
CLOUDY START BUT SOME CLEARING THIS AFTERNOON
This morning was characterized by cloudy skies, with plentiful
low and mid level clouds, although a few breaks of blue sky and
peeks of sunshine were observed. While clouds have stuck around
into this afternoon, they have broken up somewhat, allowing for
more sunshine to break through. The combination of clouds and
a light onshore wind has kept the temperature a little on the
cool side today, with a high for the day so far of 63F, compared
to the average high for today of 69F.
A few showers were observed to our north and west this morning,
but no precipitation has fallen at the summit. Visibility has
increased from 30 miles this morning to 50 miles this afternoon,
and the air has dried out some today, with dew points falling
into the 40s.
