MORNING CLOUDS AND FOG BURN OFF LEAVING US WITH MAINLY SUNNY SKIES
AND MILD TEMPERATURES….
We spent a good part of the morning in the clouds/dense fog limiting
our view to less than 1/4 of a mile. By the late morning hours, the
fog lifted and the stratus clouds began to burn off. Now we have a
pretty nice day in progress early this afternoon with plenty of sun
and very decent temperatures, especially for March standards.
Temperatures have warmed into the upper 50s early this afternoon
which is once again well above seasonal levels for today’s date.
Dew point readings have been in the 40s most of the day indicating
a decent amount of moisture in the air relative to the air
temperature.
Winds have been fairly steady out of the south and south-southwest
today. The average speed is around 12mph for the day so far. The peak
gust so far today is 28mph, which occurred just before 2pm.
As mentioned, visibility was limited early this morning, but improved
nicely as the fog and low clouds burned off. The view was under 1/4 of
a mile early this morning, but has improved to around 50-60 miles by
early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature for today is 59F degrees, which is 16 degrees
above the normal high of 43F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 37F degrees, which is 11 degrees above the normal low of 26F.
