DRY AND PLEASANT SPRING DAY
It was another beautiful day here at Blue Hill, but the humidity was even lower making for more pleasant air. Dew points remained in the low 50s and upper 40s and the relative humidity at the 1:00 P.M. EST observation was just 36%. Temperatures today have been similar yesterdays with a maximum of 78F reached so far, but we had a warmer start to the day as the temperature only dropped to a minimum of 58F last night. Visibility was excellent this morning at 80 miles, but by the afternoon there was distant haze which brought it down to 70 miles. This morning, there were little clouds in the sky, with only about 1/4 of the sky covered with mainly cirrus. In the afternoon there was a layer of overcast cirrus covering the sky, but the sun was still able to shine through. Today will likely be the second day with warmer than average temperatures after the 5 day streak of cooler than average temperatures from June 3rd to June 7th. Yesterday ended up having an average temperature that was 2F above normal, but today’s average temperature will likely be higher due to the higher minimum temperature reached so far.
