OVERCAST AND HUMID TO START, SHOWERS MOVING IN FOR THE AFTERNOON
Low clouds have filled the sky all day today, evoking a bit of a gloomy
feel. The morning hours remained dry for the most part, with occasional
showers not beginning until around noon. The total rainfall thus far is
only 0.02″. We seem to be located very close to a boundary, as dense fog
is slowly advancing in from the north and winds have gone calm.
Despite the cloud cover, temperatures today are seasonable, thanks to
light southerly flow during the morning hours. The low this morning was
in the mid 60s, and we have since slowly climbed into the low 70s. It is
a bit sticky out there, as the dew point remains in the mid to upper 60s.
Winds are light, even going calm occasionally during the late morning
hours, and again at the final observation. The average speed so far
is 6mph. The peak gust occurred early this morning, with a speed of 17mph
a bit before 3am.
Visibility remains poor due to fog and the low cloud deck. This has
ranged between 1/4 and 30 miles today, varying by sector.
The maximum temperature for today is 72F degrees, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 73F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 64F degrees, which is 9 degrees above the normal low of 55F.
