TEMPERATURES DROP, RAIN MOVES IN ON BLUE HILL TODAY…

Today has been a damp, overcast, dreary kind of day. With a
monthly deficit of -2.74 inches we can surely use some rain,
although I’m sure most would prefer it not to be over the
holiday weekend. The dew point has been in the upper 50’s and
low 60’s making for a humid feel in the air. The lack of wind
has not helped with the stickiness feel, but thankfully the
temperatures are well below average so at least it isn’t too
uncomfortable out there.

The wind has been extremely light with only an average speed
of about 3 mph. We have had calm conditions during the morning
and throughout the early afternoon with the “heaviest” wind
occurring during the overnight hours with a gust of a whopping
9 mph.

Visibility continued to deteriorate as the rain showers moved
into the area during the late morning and early afternoon hours.
We started with a visibility of 40 miles this morning and as of
the last observation, visibility was only about 5 miles.

The high temperature so far today is 63F, this is 13 degrees below
the normal maximum of 76F. The low since midnight is 61F, this is
3 degrees above the normal minimum of 58F.
