OVERCAST AND COOL TODAY WITH PERIODS OF RAIN, IN OTHER WORDS,
ITS SATURDAY!….
It has gotten to the point where anyone can be a forecaster for
at least 1 day of the week. If it’s Saturday, it’s going to rain!
This has actually been the case since late February as that was
the last time we had a Saturday without precipitation.
Clouds have been the theme today with periods of rain falling
throughout the morning and into early this afternoon ending just
after 12:30pm. 0.09″ has been recorded since it began early this
morning through the 1pm observation.
Temperatures are also on the cool side generally holding in the
mid 50s. This is nearly 20 degrees below the expected daytime
readings for this date. Of course with the rain falling, the air
is nearly saturated as indicated by dew points also in the mid
50s.
Winds have been fairly steady all day out of mainly the east-
northeast. The average speed so far today is around 8mph. The
peak gust so far is 24mph, which occurred just before 11:45am
this morning.
Visibility has been limited today as one would expect. The view
has generally been 10-25 miles, but did drop as low as 5-6 miles
during rainy periods late this morning.
The maximum temperature for today is 58F degrees, which is 17
degrees below the normal high of 75F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 55F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the
normal low of 57F.
