DENSE FOG AND DRIZZLE THIS MORNING WITH SOME BREAKS OF SUN THIS AFTERNOON

Much of the morning was spent in the fog here at the summit, with the
visibility reduced to 1/16 of a mile for several hours.  In addition, periods
of light drizzle occurred during this time, along with a light rain shower
around 11:00 A.M.  Only a trace of rainfall has been recorded since 7:00 this
morning, however.  The total rainfall from the past couple days so far is
0.39 inches, which still leaves us about half an inch below normal for the
month so far.  Following the shower around 11:00, clouds started to lift and
break up, allowing for a few peeks of blue sky and some sunshine, after no
sunshine was observed yesterday.

The temperature has been in the 60s for most of the day today, slowly rising
through the late morning and early afternoon.  The breaks of Sun have allowed
it to climb into the low 70s this afternoon.  Winds have been very light,
especially this morning, with an average speed for the day so far of under
5mph, with a shift from the E earlier to the NW now after a cold frontal
passage.
