PLEASANT WEATHER TODAY BEHIND COLD FRONT

Despite a cold frontal passage last night, it’s been another warm day today,
with a high temperature for the day so far of 79F.  Only a trace of
rainfall was recorded with the frontal passage, and our yearly precipitation
deficit now exceeds 3.50 inches.  The skies have been variably cloudy for
most of the day, with mostly cloudy skies early this morning, but we’ve
had sunshine observed through some high cloudiness for the late morning and
into the afternoon.

Visibility was a spectacular 85 miles at the 7:00 EST observation this
morning, a very rare value for this time of year.  It has dropped to
70 miles by afternoon.  Winds were brisk from the S last evening, and
remained a little gusty from the NW early this morning, but they have
died down as the day has gone on, allowing a NE sea breeze to develop.
