DRY AIR WITH LOW HUMIDITY CONTINUES ON BLUE HILL TODAY….
Another beautiful day at Blue Hill with continued dry air and
seasonable temperatures. We have had mostly high level cloud
cover today with a few cumulus clouds popping up during the
early afternoon. Increasing clouds were observed by mid morning,
however, because the clouds were high level cirrus, there was
still plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
Temperatures have been similar to yesterday, with an overnight
low of 61F. We started the morning in the upper 60’s and just made
reached 82F by the final daily observation. Dew points have also
stayed in the mid 50s, which is slightly higher than yesterday,
and with lighter winds it has felt just a tad bit humid. Overall,
it’s been a very comfortable day though.
The wind has been light for much of the day. During the overnight
we had a northwesterly flow that has shifted to the southwest by
the late morning. The average speed for the day so far is only around
7mph. The peak gust so far is 21mph, which occurred just after 1pm.
Thanks to the lower dew points, it has been another excellent day
for visibility. We have enjoyed about 60 miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature for today is 82F degrees, which is 1
degree above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the normal
low of 63F.
