HAZY SKIES WITH SMOKE ALOFT….

Skies began clear this morning. By late morning, a cumulus field
developed, and is continuing to increase in coverage. Despite the
dry air mass currently in place, visibility has been held back today
due to a layer of smoke aloft.

Temperatures began the morning in the low 60s, and quickly rose to
the mid 80s by the afternoon. The dew point has been falling from the
upper 50s to the mid 50s, meaning it feels comfortable out there today.

The winds have been very light, with direction being variable.
The average so far is 7mph, but the speeds for the past several
hours have been in the 2-4mph range. The peak gust so far is only about
16mph, taking place around 3am.

Visibility was low this morning due to the haze from the smoke,
limited to 12 miles. Since then, it has improved a bit to 30 miles,
but the smoke layer remains.

The maximum temperature so far today is 84F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 63F, which is 1 degree below the normal low of 64F.
