DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, JULY 26, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

PARTLY CLOUDY TODAY WITH NICE TEMPERATURES AND INCREASING SW BREEZE

It’s been another nice day today, with comfortable temperatures and plenty
of sunshine.  Our afternoon high so far is 82F, after a morning low of 63F.
The air has been dry again today, especially this afternoon, with the dew
point falling into the mid 50s this afternoon.  There have been some clouds
at various levels today, but these have not prevented us from seeing
sunshine for most of the day. The wind has picked up a little out of the SW
late this morning and early this afternoon, with a few gusts over 20mph.
The visibility has improved today, from 35 miles early this morning up to
50 miles this afternoon.  Yesterday, the visibility fell to 15 miles during
the afternoon, with a significant amount of haze present as well as smoke
from wildfires burning far to our northwest in Canada.  The shift in wind
direction today has helped clear that smoke out of our area, leaving us
with a more typical summertime haze.  The barometer has started to fall
slowly today, and it should continue to do so as a weather system slowly
moves our way, with unsettled weather likely for the next couple
days.
