CLOUDY AND HUMID WITH OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSHOWERS
IN THE AREA

The minimum temperature this morning was much higher than the last
few nights at 63F, as the dew point has climbed into the lower and
middle 60s today.  Clouds have dominated with no sunshine being
observed into early afternoon.  A heavy rain shower brought 0.16
inches in a little under an hour ending at 6:30 AM EST today.
Occasional very light rain showers later in the morning brought
only traces of rain. A heavy thundershower was passing well SW
of the summit at the time of the 1 PM EST observation.  Distant
lightning was observed from SW to S between 1:30 PM and 2 PM EST
as the storm passed, and thunder was heard for five minutes
starting at 1:29 PM EST. The wind has increased from the SSW
during the day with gusts approaching 30 mph as of early afternoon.
