HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR SO FAR YESTERDAY
HOT AGAIN TODAY BUT LESS HUMID

Yesterday featured the warmest temperatures of the year so far, with the high
of 93F just one degree short of tying the daily record.  The low of 71F was
the first low of the season to remain over 70F.  Some showers and storms
developed southeast of the Observatory in the afternoon, but no rainfall
was recorded here.

Hot weather has continued today, with a high temperature so far of 91F.  Dew
points are lower today than yesterday, however, only in the mid to upper 50s
for most of the day, with relative humidity values dropping to near 30%.  In
addition, a steady 10-15mph SW breeze established itself by late morning,
with gusts over 20mph, making the heat a little more bearable.  Visibility
has also been better, at or just above 60 miles all day.
