AFTERNOON SKIES SEE BREAKS IN CLOUD COVER,
TEMPS REACH 74F BY 1:00PM EST
Overcast conditions continued this morning during the
first two observations. The stratocumulus and stratus
layers began to break before noon to give us some
sunshine and blue skies. With the breaks in cloud cover,
temperatures were able to rise to 74F by 1:00PM after an
overnight low of 59F which occurred before midnight last
night. Winds were very light this morning with near calm
conditions. They began to pick up in the afternoon, but
the peak gust for the day is still just 10 MPH.
The high temperature on Friday of 63F was just one degree
warmer than the record low maximum for the date of 62F
set in 1937.
