AN ALMOST CLEAR DAY FOLLOWING THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT
SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON…

Today consisted of an excellent visibility of 85 miles and
almost skies save a few cumulus clouds. Wind is 10 mph and
northwesterly with a max gust so far of 33 mph earlier on
this morning.

The official snow total for yesterday’s event is 15.7 inches,
which is .3 inches below the record of 16 inches; set in 1977.
The summit maintains 9 inches of snow depth by 1 P.M. today,
as the snow was on the dryer side and compacted significantly
since yesterday afternoon. Speaking to this is the liquid
precipitation total of 0.78 inches, meaning the snow consisted
of very little liquid by comparison.

The high so far today is 25F, which is 10 degrees below the
normal high of 35F. The low since midnight is 11F, which is
8 degrees above the normal low of 19F.
