REMAINING COLD WITH MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES…

Skies have been mostly clear all day, with just a few stratocumulus,
altocumulus, and cirrus clouds around. Though it remains a bit colder
than normal for late January, the abundant sunshine with just a light
breeze makes it a decent day to get outdoors.

Temperatures held in the mid-teens through much of the overnight, only
briefly dipping down to a low of 11F just before sunrise. Since then,
the temperature has risen nicely into the upper 20s. The dew point has
increased slightly as well, rising from the high single digits to the
mid teens.

The wind began rather light out of the west-northwest, picked up a touch
late morning, and has gone lighter again by the afternoon, now out of the
west. Our average speed is about 10mph. The peak gust to this point occurred
just after 11:30am with a speed of around 26mph.

Visibility remains constrained by haziness, with views stuck in the 30-50
mile range throughout the day.

The maximum temperature for today is 29F degrees, which is 5 degrees
below the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 11F degrees, which is 6 degrees below the normal low of 17F.
