DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
CLOUDS MOVE IN OVERHEAD DESPITE DRY CONDITIONS…
While we anticipate tonight’s forecast storm, weather conditions today
have yet to display some of the traditional signs of an impending storm.
So far, pressure has stayed relatively high, with station pressure
hovering around 1000 MB around the time of the 1 P.M. observation.
Additionally, conditions have stayed fairly dry, with relative humidity
falling throughout the morning, with 57% observed at 1 P.M. In spite
of these trends, cloud activity may provide a bigger frame of reference
in terms of regional weather patterns. In this capacity, the evolution
of today’s cloud cover has been noteworthy. The 7 A.M. observation was
striking, with clear skies overhead, but significant cloud cover in all
directions when peering into the distance. Eventually, bands of
altocumulus began to fill in around 10 A.M. until the overcast layer of
altostratus was reached just after noon. Wind speeds have been no more
than a light breeze throughout the observation period, with the most
notable change reflected in the shift from northerly to northeasterly winds.
