DISTURBANCE YIELDS FIRST MEASURABLE SNOW OF THE MONTH….

Flakes began flying here a little more than an hour before sunrise,
and have continued to fall since. Though the intensity has remained
rather light, below-freezing temperatures have allowed for some
accumulation. So far, we have received 0.7″ of snow, with a liquid
equivalent of 0.06″.

The temperature was on an upward trajectory as early as 2am thanks to
a light easterly breeze, making it to 30F just before 6am. Thereafter,
winds went calm, and the temperature rapidly dropped several
degrees into the mid 20s. We briefly touched 30F again at noon, before
falling back to the upper 20s by 1pm.

Winds have been on the quiet side today, a welcomed change from recent
days. The average speed so far is about 5mph, now out of the
north-northwest. Winds were nearly calm from 7-10am this morning, and
are slowly picking up as we head into the afternoon. The peak gust
occurred around 2:15am, with a speed of 14mph.

Visibility has been poor due to the ongoing snow and associated fog.
Views have ranged from 2-5 miles.

The maximum temperature for today is 30F degrees, which is 5 degrees
below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 26F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 19F.
