A LITTLE MILD FOR BARELY MID-FEBRUARY….

Conditions were quite mild today, yet windier. We are seeing winds
above 30 mph with a consistent speed of 20 mph at the 1 P.M.
observation. Visibility was great this afternoon with 75 miles
being the maximum seen so far. Skies have cleared up a bit since
this morning, going from 6/8ths cover to less than 3/8ths by noon.

To be expected, it is a very good day for a hike! The observatory
gift shop will be open until 4 P.M., and exterior tours are
available!

The high so far today is 59F, this is 23 degrees above the normal
high of 36F. We have already set a new temperature max record today,
replacing the previous of 56F set in 1999. The low since midnight is
32F, which is 13 degrees above the normal minimum of 19F.
