CLOUDY, MILD, AND DAMP TODAY AFTER RECORD WARMTH YESTERDAY….

The temperature yesterday afternoon reached 63F degrees,
establishing a new record high for the day. The old record
was 60F set in 1984.

It remained mild overnight, but it wasn’t warm enough to be
a record. Despite that, the overnight low of 43F degrees was
more than 20F above the normal low for the date!

Clouds have been the theme today with a few off and on
showers moving through this morning. Rainfall amounted to
0.02″ so far, but more is expected later this afternoon
and tonight. Dense fog also overspread the summit this
morning and has continued this afternoon. Visibility has
dropped to only 1/16th of a mile by the 1pm observation.

Despite the clouds and fog, temperatures are still quite
mild for this time of year with readings into the low 50s.

The wind has been out of a southerly direction today,
averaging around 15mph. The highest gust actually came in
the wee hours of this morning with a gust to 29mph occuring
around 2:30am.

The high so far today is 52F, which is 16 degrees above the
normal maximum of 36F. The low since midnight is 43F, which
is 22 degrees above the normal minimum of 21F.
