ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
SUNNY, DRY, AND VERY MILD AGAIN TODAY
Our very mild December is continuing today, with the temperature rising
into to 50F for a high so far this afternoon. December is now running
nearly 3.5 degrees above average so far. Today is another mostly sunny day
in a month that has been dominated by cloud cover. With data updated
through December 24, the percentage of possible sunshine for the month
stands at a remarkably low 25%. Another interesting aspect of this month’s
weather has been low winds, with an uncorrected monthly mean wind speed so
far of 12.0 mph. The record for the least windy December occurred last
year, when the uncorrected speed for the month was 11.9 mph. Today, winds
have generally been light out of the WSW, blowing at 5-10 mph for most of
the day, though they were a little stronger early this morning.
