A COMPLETE CONTRAST TO YESTERDAY FOLLOWING NOTABLE RAIN
AND WIND….
Rainfall from yesterday’s event totaled 1.65 inches, but
even more notable was the wind. Speeds were 30 mph on average
with a max gust of 74 mph from the south east. We had a
very high average wind speed from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M. yesterday
of 41 mph. This is 3 mph below the hourly average high speed
of 44 mph from the 1978 blizzard!
Today is a crazy contrast with frigid temperatures and
clear skies, but a limited visibility of 40 miles on
average due to haze. Wind is around 15 mph on average
from the southwest with a max gust of 35 earlier this morning.
The high so far today is only 17F, which is 21 degrees below the
normal maximum of 38F. The low since midnight is 6F, which
is 17 degrees below the normal minimum of 23F.
