GLOOMY, CLOUDY DAY ON GREAT BLUE HILL…

Following some light precipitation overnight, which only accumulated to 0.04
inches, a stratus overcast has dominated the skies today. That, combined with
high humidity and a light breeze, has resulted in a gloomy day up here on the
hill.

Temperatures have been remarkably steady today, beginning the morning in
the mid 40s and only slightly climbing to the upper 40s by early afternoon.
The dew point has remained in the mid 40s all day.

The wind has been light, averaging around only 9mph so far, and the prevailing
direction is WSW. Our peak gust so far today is only 20mph, occurring
shortly after 2:45am.

Visibility has not been great, ranging from 8-10 miles, being mainly limited
by the low clouds and thin fog.

The maximum temperature so far today is 47F degrees, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 45F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 44F, which is 15 degrees above the normal low of 29F.
