ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
WARM, SUNNY START TO THE WEEKEND
It’s been another pleasant, seasonably mild day today. Once again we
began the day with mostly clear skies, and once again we’ve seen cumulus
clouds pop up during the day, with development starting as soon as
mid-morning today and plenty of these cumulus dotting the sky this
afternoon. These clouds have not produced any rain today, however, and we
have still had plenty of sunshine all day long. The air has been very
comfortable as well, with seasonable temperatures reaching just over the
80F mark and dew points under 60F. The wind has been light today, and this
allowed for a sea breeze to develop earlier than usual this morning, which
has kept coastal areas a little cooler today. August is off to a very dry
start, as showers and thunderstorms have largely dodged the summit, with
just 0.19 inches of rain recorded for the month so far, nearly an inch
below normal.
