DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
CLOUDY AND COOLER WITH LATE MORNING RAIN SHOWERS
One tenth inch of rain fell during a late morning rain shower today
at Great Blue Hill. Skies have been overcast for most of the day,
with a layer of overcast stratocumulus early on. Later in the
morning and into the afternoon, there was broken and then scattered
stratus with a now visible layer of overcast altostratus. The cloud
cover has helped make today’s temperatures stay lower. So far, a
maximum of 74F was reached and the minimum of 67F occurred in the
early morning. Yesterday’s maximum temperature of 84F and minimum
of 66F made the day’s average temperature 3F above normal. The
cumulative temperature departure for August is now +13 degrees,
or +2.4 degrees per day.
