PLEASANT WITH MIX OF CLOUDS SUNSHINE TO WRAP UP AUGUST….
The skies were quite gray as we began the day, with clouds of all
heights present. As we progressed through the morning hours, the
mid-level clouds mostly departed. Cumulus and cirrus remain, leading
to a mix of clouds and filtered sun.
The temperature dropped into the upper 50s early this morning before
rising to the low 80s by the early afternoon. The dew point has risen a
touch but remains in the low 60s, making it a bit stickier out there
than yesterday.
Winds have been steady but remain on the lighter side, with an average
so far of approximately 10mph. The flow is primarily out of the
south. Our peak gust thus far is only 18mph, occurring around 11:45am.
Visibility was poor this morning due to thin fog and low clouds, limited
to 15 miles at the first observation at 7am. Since then, it has improved to
40 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 82F, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 78F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 58F, which is 2 degrees below the normal low of 60F.
