ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
ANOTHER DAY OF HEAT AND HIGH HUMIDITY YESTERDAY
BRIEF EARLY AFTERNOON DOWNPOUR YIELDS 0.25 IN.
ABOVE NORMAL WARMTH CONTINUES TODAY WITH MUCH LOWER HUMIDITY
Yesterday was yet another day this hot month of August with
high temperatures in the high 80’s (88F) and dew points rising
to the low 70’s. The brief early afternoon downpour did little
to ease the ongoing extreme drought with 0.25 in about 15 minutes.
Overnight into this morning the air mass has changed with the
significant lowering of the humidity with dew points falling to near
60 degrees and then into the 50’s later this morning.
The above normal temperatures continue today with our morning low
of 66 degrees running 6 degrees above the normal. Only 5 days have
had cooler than normal temperatures this month.
