NOR’EASTER REMNANTS BRING EARLY MORNING SNOW, LIGHT RAIN AND
REDUCED VISIBILITY TO BLUE HILL TODAY…

This morning there were light snow flurries which tapered off shortly
after 8am EST. We had a brief peek of sunshine and then overcast skies
moved in again. A band of precipitation from the stalled out system
off the coast of Maine brought some early afternoon rain to the region
along with intermittent sunshine. It has truly been a ‘typical’ spring
day with a little bit of all types of weather today!

What hasn’t been typical are the temperatures! The temperature has had a
difficult time recovering and the overcast skies and cold, moist air haven’t
helped any. We just made it to 41F during the late morning before the rain
moved through, causing a dip in the already below normal temperatures.

Winds continue to decrease from this week’s nor’easter. The average wind
speed so far is around 10mph, primarily out of the NNW. This morning around
10:30am holds the current peak gust spot so far at around 29mph. The wind was
fairly active during the morning but has weakened quite a bit in the afternoon.

Visibility was around 50 miles during the early morning hours. We were
holding at around 20 miles by the final observation, due to the rain and
light fog in the area.

The maximum temperature so far today is 41F degrees, which is 11
degrees below the normal high of 52F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 33F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the normal low of 35F.
